About You

It is the desire of every member of the HUB team that you would become a follower of Jesus.

Perhaps you've never met Jesus, received His forgiveness, and made Him your Lord and Saviour. Making Jesus your Lord and Saviour is the most important decision you will ever make.

Below are four important points you need to know:

1. God loves you.

No matter what your condition or predicament, God loves you. That is important beyond words! You may not have known or experienced much of love, or even felt like you love yourself but you have never been unloved by God.

The Bible says in John 3:16 ‘God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him would not die but have eternal life.’

You can put your name in that verse; right above where it says ‘world’ put your name. This is God's personal message to you... He loves you and His desire is that you would love and know Him personally too.

What prevents us from knowing God personally?
2. We are separated from God by our sin.

For many sin has become a little religious word that we can ‘play with in moderation.’ The truth is that sin, for such a small word packs a big punch!

It means ‘to miss the mark’. The mark is the standard of perfection established by God. The Bible describes sin as the breaking of God's law, disobedience against God, ignoring Him as well as independence from Him. Sin is everything that Jesus wouldn’t do and the bible says we are all sinful (Romans 3:23) and this is our biggest problem.

We don’t like to admit we are sinners because the consequences of sin are that it separates us from God and one day we will pay for our sin. We get angry when we see a criminal escape punishment on a news report because we feel justice has not been served. It is not that we have no love or compassion... in fact it is because we have love and compassion that we desire justice! God is no different... Unfortunately for us, the wages of sin is death (to be separated from God forever).

What is the solution?
3. Jesus is God’s solution. Through Him alone can we know God and experience His love forgiveness and power.

Jesus is the son of God who died in our place. He took the punishment you and I deserved and died for our sins once and for all, a perfect man on behalf of sinners, in order to enable us to come near God.

Point 1 tells us God loves us, point 2 tells us we are sinners and this point links the love and justice together... God demonstrated His unique love for us, because while we were still sinners, he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for us. (Romans 5:8)

On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead and became the victor over sin and death, He defeated our biggest problem. Jesus is alive and many witnessed this fact in the flesh. For forty days after His death He appeared to many people in ways that proved beyond doubt that He was alive.

God sent Jesus to be our ransom, to pay the penalty for us by dying on the cross and rising again. In doing this Jesus became our bridge back to God: we can now know God and be in a right relationship with Him. Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the life; no one comes to the father, except through Me” (John 14:6)

Jesus not only came to die for our sins but to show us how we might live life to the full. By becoming a follower of Jesus you will find freedom and fulfillment that apart from God you can never have. Being in a relationship with God enables you to enjoy this life to the full as you will be able to thank the one who gave life, food, and family. When you give thanks to your creator you will understand what it really means to live life to the full.

But...It’s not enough just to know the facts…
4. We must ask God to forgive us, recognise that Jesus is our Saviour and only hope and ask His Holy Spirit to fill us.

On our own, apart from God we have no hope, their is no way for you and I to come close to God unless we look to Jesus. Through Jesus a way has been made and we must recognise that Jesus is the only one able to save us, he died a death so that we would not have to, in our place for our sin and it is with Jesus our new journey begins, our journey away from the empty life and eternal hell that we deserve, we need nothing else - none of our best efforts, smart words, or by cleaning ourselves up will help - all we need is Jesus.
