If My People...

The name 'If My People ...' is taken from 2 Chronicles 7 verse 14: ‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.’ We believe this promise says that God is looking for a repentant people who are surrendered to Him, a church desperate for a move of the Holy Spirit, who have the capacity in their hearts to become nothing so that God might become everything.

Whilst recognising there are many churches, prayer groups and individuals who share our burden for a spiritual awakening in this country, our heart is to pioneer a prayer movement to complement and help drive forward the momentum that already exists to pray for revival in Ireland. History shows how prayer has been connected with every sovereign revival move of the Holy Spirit. The heart behind ‘If my people...’ a call to prayer is to mobilise and bring God’s people together in masses as well as inspire small groups to stand in the gap and fervently intercede for Ireland.

Over the past ten years Crown Jesus Ministries has hosted twenty two "If My people..." prayer events in Ireland. Calling churches together for prayer these events have been held in Belfast, Dublin, Londonderry, Ballymena, Bangor, Lisburn, Coleraine to name a few and have included guest speakers such as:

Jeff Lucas

Selwyn Hughes

R.T Kendall

Stephen Gaukroger

Ken Clarke

Joel Edwards

Jim Graham

Derick Bingham

Ian Coffey

Now we are bringing this same message and format to local Churches.

This new programme can be run on a Sunday evening as part of a Church service, as part of a midweek programme or as a specific prayer event for your church. Starting in September 2012 these can be book directly through the Crown Jesus Office. Three prayer night where hosted in June as a lead up to the programme being launched with feedback as follows:

"The Crown Jesus Prayer Event led by Mitch in Bangor Parish was a great evening of engaging with our Heavenly Father in prayer and worship. The variety of modes of prayer (silently, in groups, at the cross, in worship), made for an inspiring time. This prayer, together with the teaching on the Lord's Prayer, has further encouraged us to humbly trust our Father for all things. This event has served to give us fresh ideas, which we look forward to developing further in our walk with God. I would thoroughly recommend this opportunity for prayer to you." Nigel Parker, Bangor Parish

"Prayer is foundational for our Christian lives but it is so basic that it is often taken for granted or even outright neglected. It is always worthwhile to be drawn back to the essentials of our discipleship. The Crown Jesus "If My People" initiatives combine creative communication, engaging worship, biblical teaching with opportunities for personal and communal prayer. Taken together this made for a deeply moving, enlightening and practical evening which was warmly received across the broad spectrum of our congregation from teenagers to "more mature" members. I know that everyone who attended the special service was able to take home valuable lessons for their prayer life which can only be God-glorifying as the Church engages once again with the depth of relationship with "Our Father who art in heaven......" Canon Gareth Harron

"It was a joy to have Mitch with us in Ballygibert. Like most churches we struggle when it comes to corporate prayer. Mitch opened up creative and fresh ways which encouraged many people to engage in prayer. An evening spent with mitch will be well worth it and it will help the prayer life of your church. This was significant night for many in my congregation. I would have no hesitation commending this prayer event to others." Rev Roy Patton Presbyterian Moderator.
