Join us for a 5-week series, with some world-class speakers, desigined to equip you to speak into culture today in a relevant, compassionate and -Spirit-filled way!

In 2016, we launched the School of Evangelism which ran successfully for three years with over 100 students graduating. We aim to run the school again in autumn 2023, and this short course is an ideal opportunity to dip your toe into the world of apologetics, to have a refresher for your previous training, or to use as a taster before committing to the School of Evangelism.

Course Schedule

Week 1 - 13th Feb

Joe Boot: Apologetics and the Mission of God

Dr. Joseph Boot (M.A., Ph.D.) is a Christian thinker & cultural apologist/philosopher. He is the founder and President of the Ezra Institute for Contemporary Christianity. He also served as founding pastor of Westminster Chapel, Toronto, for 14 years. Now residing in the UK, Joseph has worked in the fields of Christian apologetics, worldview education and church leadership for over twenty-five years on both sides of the Atlantic.

Week 2 - 20th Feb

Simon Edwards: The Sanity of Belief

Simon Edwards is a speaker and writer at The Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics (OCCA). His work focusses on addressing the deep questions of our culture with meaningful answers found in the Christian faith. Simon originally hails from Australia, where he worked as a lawyer before moving to the UK to study apologetics at OCCA and theology at Oxford University.

Week 3 - 27th Feb

Andy Bannister: Do Muslims and Christians Worship the Same God?

Dr. Andy Bannister is the Director of the Solas Centre for Public Christianity (www.solas-cpc.org), as well as being an adjunct lecturer at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto. Andy speaks and teaches regularly throughout the UK, Canada, the USA, Europe and the wider world. From churches to universities, business forums to TV & radio, Andy regularly addresses audiences of Christians, those from other faiths and none on issues relating to faith, culture, politics and society. Andy holds a PhD in Islamic studies and is an adjunct research fellow at the Centre for the Study of Islam and Other Faiths at Melbourne School of Theology.

Week 4 - 6th March

Amanda Mitchell: Identity

Amanda Mitchell is Chief Operations Officer and Evangelist with Crown Jesus Ministries as well as a regular teacher at Christian Fellowship Church, Belfast. Amanda has a degree in Applied Biochemical Science and spent 22 years working in the retail and fashion industry. She is currently completing her Masters in Applied Theology with a focus on Apologetics and Communication.

Week 5 - 13th March

Mitch: Apologetics in Action

Mitch is an evangelist and co-founder of Crown Jesus Ministries. He served 16 years with the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service before stepping into full-time ministry in 2011. He holds an MA in Applied Theology (with a focus on leadership), is an alumni student of RZIM, an IVP author and a director of Compassion Ireland. Mitch is a regular on Christian radio, TBNUK TV and a popular evangelist across Ireland and beyond.
